Exam season is closing in. Every week without the right support, the distance between where your child is and where they need to be gets harder to close. You would like, calmly, for there to be a clear path to the grade.

Every programme begins with a Grade Audit: a timed past paper, sat under exam conditions and marked to the official mark scheme. This sets a precise baseline. A second assessment at week twelve measures the change against it.
The outcome is guaranteed in writing: at least one grade's improvement against the baseline, or tutoring continues free to week twenty-four. The guarantee applies as long as your child attends their scheduled sessions and completes the work set between them.

§ IVHow it works
A fifteen-minute call to understand where your child stands, identify the specific gap, and agree the target grade. We will be direct about whether the programme is the right fit. No obligation, and no follow-up unless invited.
Your child is paired with a tutor who holds an A* or A in the subject they teach, studied at a Russell Group university, holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and knows the specification your child is sitting. The match is made on subject, exam board, and learning style.
The programme opens with the Buy-In Session. Your child sits the Grade Audit, a full past paper from their exam board under timed conditions, marked against the official mark scheme, and is then walked through their own marked paper: they see exactly where the marks went and agree the target themselves. Weekly sessions work through the weaknesses the audit exposes, in priority order, with exam-board-specific practice built in throughout. The Week 6 Reset checks progress against the baseline and adjusts the plan. At Week 12, your child sits a second past paper under the same conditions. Improvement is measured between the two.
You receive a short written note after each session covering what was worked on, what improved, and what comes next. A mid-programme assessment at Week 6 checks progress against the baseline and gives us time to adjust if needed. You see the trajectory, not just the endpoint.
§ VWhy you can trust us
Most tutors are paid by the hour regardless of outcome. BTG takes on the financial risk: if the grade does not move, we keep working at our own cost until it does. That is not a marketing line, it is written into the agreement you sign before any tutoring begins. Our incentives are the same as yours.
A first-class degree does not make someone a good tutor. Every applicant sits a mock session where we observe how they explain, adapt, and check understanding, not just what they know. We reject more than four out of five applicants, usually at that stage. Every tutor who passes holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and safeguarding is a non-negotiable part of the process. The tutors who reach your child are the ones who can move a grade, not just hold a conversation about the syllabus.
Progress is measured against the same mark scheme the examiner will use, not our own assessment, and not a vague sense that things are going well. The baseline past paper, the Week 6 checkpoint, and the final assessment all use official papers under timed conditions. The baseline paper is marked by a tutor other than the one who will deliver the programme, and you receive both scripts and both marked papers. You see the numbers; they are not ours to interpret.

Every tutor studied at a Russell Group university and achieved an A* or A in the subject they teach. The selection process has five stages: a written application, a structured interview, a mock teaching session observed against our criteria, two verified references, and an enhanced DBS check. Fewer than one in five applicants are accepted onto the programme.
Yes. Every tutor on the programme holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and the check is renewed in line with current guidance. Safeguarding is a non-negotiable part of how we vet and onboard tutors, not an extra step we tick off at the end. No applicant teaches a BTG student without it.
All sessions are delivered online, one to one, over video call. This keeps scheduling flexible, removes travel time, and means your child is matched to the strongest tutor for their subject and board rather than whoever happens to be nearby.
Most students do not, at first. The programme is built with that in mind. It opens with the Buy-In Session: your child is walked through their own marked Grade Audit paper and sees exactly where the marks went. For most students, "I am bad at this" turns out to be "I am losing marks I already know how to get", and that discovery, made by the student rather than announced to them, changes how they arrive at the twelve weeks that follow.
From there, the weekly tracked marks act as a scoreboard. Your child watches their own numbers move week by week, which does more for engagement than any amount of persuasion. And if the first fortnight shows it truly is not going to work, the fourteen-day cooling-off period means you can cancel and pay only for the sessions used.
At the start of the programme, your child sits a past paper from their exam board under timed conditions. We mark it using the official mark scheme, and the resulting grade becomes the baseline. At the end of the twelve weeks, they sit a different past paper from the same board, under the same conditions, marked the same way. The target is one grade above the baseline, agreed in writing before any tutoring begins.
If the target is not reached on that final assessment, the programme continues at no further cost until it is. The guarantee is measured against these internal assessments, not the external exam itself, which means progress is confirmed immediately rather than months later.
Tutoring continues at the same weekly cadence, at no further cost, until your child reaches the agreed target. Continuation is capped at a further twelve weeks, to week twenty-four. No further invoice is raised. The guarantee applies on the condition that your child has attended at least 90% of scheduled sessions and completed the work set between them.
Attendance at a minimum of 90% of scheduled sessions, and completion of the practice work their tutor sets between them. The workload is calibrated to their level, typically one to two hours between weekly sessions, and is designed around the target rather than set for its own sake.
These conditions are agreed in writing alongside the target grade before any tutoring begins. They are the protection that makes the guarantee real rather than a marketing line. If your child does their part and we do not deliver, the continuation is on us.
Sessions continue through half-term and the Christmas break. Tutoring is online, so there is no term-time constraint, and holiday weeks are often where the most ground is made. If your family would rather pause for a holiday, tell the tutor and the sessions are rescheduled around it; the twelve weeks simply extend by the same amount.
In the first fourteen days, yes. Enrolling online carries the standard fourteen-day cooling-off period: cancel for any reason in that window and the fee is returned, less a fair charge for any sessions already delivered at your request.
After that, the commitment runs the other way. The fee is committed because the outcome is: if the grade has not moved by Week 12, we do not hand back the fee and walk away, we keep tutoring at no further cost until it has, to week twenty-four. The programme is priced on delivering the grade, not on hedging against it. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
The Grade Guarantee Programme is £2,000 for the twelve weeks, covering one subject. You can pay in full, which includes two additional Boost Sessions, or in two instalments of £1,100: the first on commencement, and the second billed only once the Week 6 assessment shows movement against the baseline.
